Maryland's Chronic Nurse Shortage

Maryland does not have enough Registered Nurses (RNs) to meet its needs. By 2016, Maryland is projected to be short over 10,000 RNs. If critical steps are not taken now to ensure the needed supply of nurses, sufficient health care may not be available in the future for you or your loves ones. To secure our future we must invest in our present.

What is Who Will Care?

The Maryland Hospital Association, together with health care and education leaders from across the state, has put forth an extensive fundraising campaign and grant program to end Maryland's nurse shortage.  Who Will Care? will help increase—and eventually double—the number of nursing students graduating from the state’s nursing schools offering the first (RN) degree.  The additional RNs will close the shortage gap, and provide essential care and health services to Maryland and the surrounding region.  Please consider donating to the Who Will Care? Campaign to support the growth of Maryland’s nursing workforce.
